The Revenue Accounting Manager supports the Controller by overseeing the revenue recognition and AR related accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards while providing key reporting, analysis and insights to inform business decisions. This role may supervise an accountant focused on revenue accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASC 606 to ensure compliance
  • Oversee the revenue and AR monthly close, interfacing with individuals within and outside of the organization as needed to  ensure proper treatment and coding of accounting transactions
  • Perform and/or review Revenue and AR related journal entries and transactions, account reconciliations and analyses and post sales and receivables batches
  • Investigate errors and inconsistencies in revenue and AR entries, documents, and reporting 
  • Present revenue results to management and the accounting and FP&A teams along with key analysis
  • Support the company’s revenue forecasting and budgeting process
  • Maintain internal controls, policies, procedures, and documentation and improve as needed
  • Work effectively under tight deadlines in a team environment with a focus on accuracy, timeliness and responsiveness
  • Support the annual audit related to revenue recognition and accounts receivable reviews

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business required; CPA preferred
  • 6+ years’ experience in accounting, with at least 3 years revenue recognition focus
  • Advanced ability with MS Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP; Expert with ASC 606
  • Travel: 10%
  • This role may supervise one or more individual contributors
